For years I have been in place in my life where I cared too much. I cared too much about what people thought of me and how people would treat me. I thought the world was full of rainbows and sunshine until I saw people I loved, show me a side I’ve never seen before. That’s when I saw the world for what it really was. A world so dim and full of evil intent. I grew up and saw the REAL behind the “love.” It’s true. You fall in love with this world until you see what it’s really like. Our home is not meant to be on this Earth but a temporary home. The real home is in Heaven. I remind myself everyday that here on Earth people’s opinions and objective of me does not define me. What people say about me to others, does not make me the person they say I am. God knows. He knows the me I am when I am all alone crying for help at my lowest. He knows the person I become when I overthink and the person I am when I am happy and at my best. He sees it all. The worst and the best of me. I struggle daily with thoughts of am i doing the right thing? Am I the person God wants me to be? Do I treat people how I would want to be treated ? I woke up one day and decided to stop letting my thoughts control me. I decided to let God handle where I am going and how I am feeling. I let go of how I was feeling and people around me. I truly let myself become the best version of myself. I let go of the things that held me back from being the strongest and happiest form of myself. God showed me that to be happy you don’t have to have the materialistic things but the memory of those who love you the most. He showed me that it is okay to better myself. So today I chose to be me. I chose to be the best version of myself. I am unapologetically me.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
