To The Forever Friends Who Pick Up Right Where We Left Off, You Have No Idea How Special You Are

To the friends I haven't seen in a while,

I miss you. I know we used to text about every little thing, but now life has gotten in the way. That is not to say I don't want to hear about the newest boy drama and crazy going out stories. I love catching up, it's like no time has passed. Just because we went down different paths doesn't mean we can't talk anymore.

When I see you, I am reminded of my childhood. I am reminded of the growth I have achieved. You helped change me into the person I am today, you make me better. We may be adults now but we act as carefree as when we were in middle school. I miss doing outrageous things together. Nevertheless, just as we have matured, our relationship has transformed as well.

I look back on all of the years we spent laughing and taking ridiculous selfies with fondness. Our friendship has always meant a lot to me and I want you to know I'll be forever grateful for your presence in my life. All the time, I see things that remind me of you and remind me of how long we have not spoken. Then, I get this anxious feeling that is only soothed when I text you out of the blue. I feel better after those conversations, I know you still care.

You keep me grounded.

I know you will call me out when I need it. If there is ever a time when you need a friend, confidant or someone to kick you in the butt, you know I am here for you. Wherever life takes us, I will still be here, cheering you on and being your biggest supporter. There are so many times we could have stopped keeping in contact and I hope we never reach that point. Life has a way of bringing people into your life that you need I still need you.

Thank you for being my forever friend. I can't wait to pick up right where we left off when I see you next.

In case you're unaware, "resting bitch face" is the term used to describe when a person's natural, expressionless face makes it look like they are mad at the world. Whether they are walking down the street or simply spacing out thinking about what to eat for dinner, it's very easy for others to assume that this person is either upset or mad at them. Because of this, those of us with Resting Bitch Face (RBF), and especially us women, have all experienced many of the same situations and conversations, including:

We've all had a crush before. Whether it leads to something or nothing, the process has all been the same. The awkward feelings, the stalking, and the stress of trying to keep this huge secret. The feeling of becoming a total spazz is something that cannot be avoided, and the most spazzy family that can relate to this feeling is the Belcher's.

10 Thoughts Of A 5th Year Senior

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.
