Let's Remember The True Meaning Of Christmas

John 3:16 - For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Christmas is the best time of the year. People are more caring and understanding of those who are in need. People wanna give instead of receive and want to buy the best presents for their loved ones. But what do people forget about Christmas? It seems that people always associate gifts with Christmas instead of the true meaning. The true meaning of Christmas is when Jesus was born.

A lot of people, sadly, do not believe in God for their personal reasons, but I think it is because God is not talked about enough in what he truly does for us. God sent his son down to earth to be born to spread the word and to let people know about salvation. To spread God's word. Jesus was crucified for our sins so that our sins would be washed away. Once you accept Jesus into your heart is when you truly are saved and go to heaven.

Christmas is a beautiful time of year that is confused with Santa and presents that the real meaning is lost. If you don't believe in God, now is your chance to learn about him. Nowadays people think religion is just brainwashing or just mumbo jumbo but to me, that is not the case. I was raised going church and I am grateful for that. I learned about Jesus and how he died for our sins and we celebrate Christmas because it is Jesus' birthday. If it wasn't for the birth of Jesus, we would all be living in hell.

I am not here to push my beliefs but any means, but think about it. If you ever have seen a baby born... one of the truest of miracles in the world and still not believe in God? Ok, Ok, Ok, you can argue with me about science but really? Having a woman grow someone so beautiful in their belly and then give birth to see this little human breathing, thinking, and loving. That is the truest of miracles.

God answers prayers. If you pray for something and it doesn't come true, it doesn't mean God doesn't exist. He hears you, he always does, but maybe it is the unanswered prayers that mean a lot too. I have had plenty of prayers answered by God and plenty that haven't. I understand the ones that he did not answer as much as the ones he has answered.

Before you think about gifts, think of the truest meaning. The day Jesus was born. Think of all the blessing in your life. Don't think of all the wrong or negative in your life. Be thankful because in the world there is someone less fortunate than you. Things can be a lot worse. Struggles are everywhere. Be grateful for another day on this earth with family. Just remember Jesus was born so that you could have salvation to accept him and enter the kingdom of heaven one day.

Isaiah 9:6 - For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
