Okay, kids, if you're anything like me, you're probably gearing up for your first round of midterms. You're also probably slightly terrified every time you look at your syllabus. And, like me, you are probably looking for some guidance. Who will be your shining beacon during this dark time of procrastination? Who will give you the strength you need to push through (or limp your way) to fall break?
Look no further than Pawnee, Indiana's own Leslie Knope. Let's see what she has to say about what we're all thinking and feeling right now.
1. "Hey, Leslie. It's Leslie. Hang in there. I love you. Bye."
Leave yourself an inspiring message? Sounds good to me.
2. "I just slept seven hours, which is twice as long as I usually sleep, so I'm a little disoriented."
This perfectly conveys both when that quick power nap runs a little longer than expected and the general lack of sleep during midterms.
3. "I don't want to be overdramatic, but today felt like a hundred years in hell and the absolute worst day of my life."
An accurate depiction of the last day at school before break.
4. "I need you to text me every thirty seconds saying that everything is going to be okay."
Grab a buddy during this stressful time and suffer together. It makes it easier.
5. "There's nothing we can't do if we work hard, never sleep, and shirk all other responsibilities in our lives!"
Other responsibilities: laundry, dishes, cleaning, talking to anyone beyond the Starbucks barista who is going to give you more coffee (but be especially nice to them, they're feeling overworked right now too). But that's the spirit!
6. "We have to remember what's important in life: Friends, waffles, work. Or waffles, friends, work. But work has to come third."
