Change is something that I have a bittersweet relationship with. It is often a case of serendipity as well as something capricious. Don't get me wrong, there is absolutely nothing wrong with changes and some are meant for the good of the public. As the legendary writer, Leo Tolstoy once proclaimed, "True life is lived when tiny changes occur."

However, some changes are more characterized as a life-changing route that tends to require some extra time to fully adapt to and eventually accept. Examples of some of these changes include moving to a new place which could end up being a foreign country or having to meet new people at your workplace as well as in your family.

Changes can be either good or bad. A pulchritudinous change in biology occurs when a caterpillar metamorphoses into a resplendent butterfly, thus defining change as an aesthetic weapon in nature. Some changes are considered auspicious in the sense that they bring forth a future full of radiance and merriment. Perhaps, the real meaning of life is to embrace life with a daredevil attitude whenever you are brought face-to-face to changes that you were totally oblivious to.

Despite not having a predilection for changes 100% of the time, I have learned to embrace them especially when I know I have the tenacity to conquer them. After all, since when has life been completely static? As humans, we are innately programmed as bombastic creatures who have no alternative choice but to keep on accelerating swiftly even when changes come our way.

Moreover, changes shouldn't be treated as a major hindrance in your life for any reason! The paradigm of life has been constructed in that manner and it is always a sign of positivity when these changes are accepted gracefully. There's no thrill in life if our lives are severely mundane with no headaches i.e. changes that help shape the person we are.

Experiencing a dynamic shift in roles as a person is one prime example of change that may seem inaccessible at first, but is certainly worth the ride. For instance, a woman is first a young girl who is a daughter, who then matures into a wife, mother, and ultimately a grandmother.

Likewise, a man is first a young boy who is a son, who then develops into a husband, father, and ultimately a grandfather. Reaching these redoubtable milestones in life is what signifies a change and thus serves as the impetus for life's natural changes that are meant to ultimately lift your spirits. As a matter of fact, there is nothing odious about changes if they can be handled in a mature manner as they cross your path during the cycle of life.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
