Lauren Daigle is an American contemporary Christian music singer and songwriter. Recently, she made her debut on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. Daigle performed her single; 'Still Rolling Stones'. After the performance, Daigle faced some backlash for performing on the show since Ellen is openly gay. Daigle later defended herself in an interview with WAY-FM Radio. She stated; "I think the second we start drawing lines around which people are able to be approached and which aren't, we've already completely missed the heart of God." I couldn't agree more with what she said.
Lauren Daigle and Ellen are a good example that people who are Christians and people who are gay, lesbian, or trans; can get along. Lauren Daigle and Ellen are both great women who are talented and successful. They both work hard. They both care about people and the world around them. I love Ellen's show, and I love Daigle's music.
As Christians, we are called to be Christ-like. Christ hung out with everyone. He didn't hate anyone. Neither should we. I have people in my life that are gay, lesbian, and trans. I don't treat them any differently. That's how it should be. Hate gets us nowhere. When you hate other people but claim to be a Christian, then you really aren't doing what a Christian is supposed to be doing.
What is the point to hate others? I'm not saying that you don't have to like everyone, but you shouldn't hate them. We shouldn't be hating others due to their race, class status, gender, sexuality, and so on. We are all human beings. So what if we come from different backgrounds. You shouldn't hate someone because they are different than you.
I support both of these amazing women.
Let's stop judging and hating one another.
