T-Minus 6 days till the best day of the year. You guessed it-IT'S CHRISTMAS! Now some of you may still be recovering from a hellacious finals week and some of you maybe panicking that all the Christmas movies are almost off cable and you haven't even watched one yet. Do not fret, there is time. We will get through this together. BUT before this beautiful season has vanished before our eyes once again… make sure to complete the following checklist to ensure you can live with yourself until the next Christmas season rolls around.
Make sure you've watched at least five Christmas movies. I would specifically suggest: National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, Elf, at least one of the Tim Allen Santa Clause movies, (if not all three… I won’t judge) Polar Express, and last but not least, any of the Home Alones.
Make sure you've bought presents for all of your loved ones. I know you’re broke, but set a budget and just get them all something little to let them know that you care. A Christmas present is more than just an object, it’s a way to show you care by really thinking about that person.
Make sure you've listened to at least three Christmas Albums. I would suggest first starting off with a Country Christmas station on Pandora, and then branching out from there.
Make sure you've planned a speech in your head for Christmas Eve and Day. We all know you’ll have about a thousand people ask you what you’re doing at school, if you have a 4.0, how your love and social life is… etc. Make sure you’re prepared and have it ready to go in your head.
Make sure you've made Christmas Cookies. Cookies are acceptable all throughout the year, but Christmas is the best time for sweets. Make sure to whip up some goodies before the first of the year hits and you’re attempting to meet a New Year’s Resolution.
Make sure you've worn at least one Ugly Christmas Sweater. Hopefully you attended a party when you were still at school that was Ugly Christmas Sweater themed, but if you haven’t, throw one on for giggles. Nothing says holiday cheer like an Ugly Christmas Sweater.
As college students sometimes it's hard to embrace ‘The Most Wonderful Time of Year’ so make sure before this season is over that you’ve taken part in all your Holiday traditions! Merry Christmas!
