If you Leave Your Kid In A hot Car to Die, You Don't Deserve to Be A parent

Stress or forgetfulness is not an excuse to leave your child to die in 100+ degree heat.

It seems as if every summer, you always see a few news headlines saying that yet ANOTHER child has been left in the car for hours in the sweltering heat and tragically died soon after. Most people react sadly as there's another child who has passed away, but many others, including myself, experience anger. Why anger, though?

Because parents leaving their child in the car to die is becoming more and more common as the years go on.

You see it all the time: people will say that you should leave your phone or one of your shoes in the backseat because you won't forget either of those, right? But let me make sure I'm getting this right- you'll remember your shoe or your cell phone, but you won't remember your own child?

If you have to put your iPhone in the backseat or have a child reminder system enabled in your car, you do NOT deserve the title of a parent. When you're a parent, your child should be your #1 priority. You should care about them, their wellbeing, their health, etc. No, I'm not saying you can't ever care about anything else, but come on.

You should NOT have to be reminded by a system or by the fact that you don't have your left shoe on to tell you that your child is in your car.

Truthfully, I know that myself and a lot of other people just simply do not understand how this is happening. I'm not even a parent, but I could never fathom leaving my kid in the car and going inside to do grocery shopping only to come back with my windows busted as they try to get my kid out of the car.

And we're all human, right? We sometimes forget things, but forgetting your CHILD is a whole different level of plain ignorance and it is not fair to these kids.

These kids didn't ask to be left in a hot car to die.

This is happening far too often. Every time you turn around, another child is dead because their parent(s) forgot them in a car and it simply just doesn't make sense and it probably never will.

A child is not something you just "forget".

You should not be blessed with a child if you're that liable to forget them. It is not fair to them and I'm sure everyone can agree with that. When you become a parent, it is your responsibility to love and care for that child and I will never believe that love and care means leaving them in a hot vehicle for hours upon hours.

This has to stop and something needs to be done.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
