Coffee. It’s been there for me through some of my best and worst moments; when it came to my late night study sessions or the days where I didn’t know how I was going to physically make it through the rest of the day without passing out. Its strong and creamy goodness will always be there for me when I need something to turn to. People say I might have a major addiction on my hands, while I can’t disagree, all I can say is I could be addicted to something else. I have to give all my thanks to the one thing that provides me my coffee every day, my Keurig.

1. “I love waking up in the mornings and seeing you in the kitchen.”

The only thing that gets me out of bed and ready for bed is knowing my Keurig is there waiting to give me a nice cup of coffee.

2. “You are always there for me when I need you.”

Whether I’m waking up on a relaxing Saturday morning or staying up until all hours of the night cramming for an exam I know I have something that will instantly provide me some coffee.

3. “The coffee you give me always cheers me up.”

It is no joke when people say coffee makes you happier. A day without coffee is like a day without sun.

4. “I hope this little area is a cute enough space for my Keurig.”

There is so more to a Keurig than just the Keurig. You have to find a place to put k-cup, sugar, and coffee cups. A kitchen in incomplete without all those necessities.

5. “I need to make a cute sign for you.”

Do you even drink coffee if you don’t have a corny coffee saying sitting next to the Keurig??

6. “You brighten my mornings.”

Nothing fulfills my excitement more than seeing the blue lights on my Keurig flash in the morning.

7. “Okay why do you have to be so messy sometimes?”

Although a Keurig is convenient, the maintenance that comes with it can be a pain in the butt. There is no way to avoid it though, because if you do you might lose it for forever.

8. “Shhhh don’t be too loud, Savanna is still sleeping!”

Sometimes mornings are unpleasant when the Keurig decides to be moody and vibrate loudly and spit out coffee like it has something against you.

9. “There is so much more it has to offer.”

Not only can a Keurig give you coffee, you can also get tea, hot chocolate and so much more.

10. “Why does this stupid thing have to take up so much space??”

When you think of all the counter space used to display your lovely assortment of coffee supplies and the box of 100 k-cups in your pantry, you begin to wonder if there really is a problem.

11. “Why does everything you want have to be so expensive?”

But let’s be real, it does hurt a little when you have to go to the store and restock on k-cups…

12. “I get tired of having to fulfill your needs.”

There is nothing more frustrating than pushing the blue button to get the Keurig and then realizing you have to fill up that entire freaking water tub.

13. “I love the warm feeling you give me when the world is cold.”

Coffee, a hot cup of joe, is even more satisfying on a freezing cold day.

14. “Should I be giving you filtered water?”

As you fill the water tub with tap water you pray there is nothing in the water that’s going to harm your Keurig.

15. “If I push your buttons too much will you get mad at me?”

When you think about how many times a day you use your Keurig it is easy to question if it can be over used.

16. “How much electricity are you using?”

The most important question… if that thing is using up too much of you electricity it has got to go!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
