New years, a time when people across the world celebrate the start of a new year. Many start the new year with ambitious goals and promises. But do we actually live up to them?

Millions of people make New Year Resolutions, whether its to get a new position at their job, or merely to get in shape. Many do not follow through with there resolutions.

Truthfully I believe that people should actually try to keep their resolutions alive year round. Because not only will it better themselves as people but allow them to reach goals they wished to reach for years. There are many different reasons people decide not to keep their resolutions and sometimes life gets too hard to continue them. But if something is not a big deal, you should let it prevent you from accomplishing what you want to set out to accomplish.

New Year resolutions shouldn't be a month thing, but yet a year by year thing. It will allow you to pursue new opportunities and or better your life as a whole.

See many people make resolutions to better improve their way of living or set their expectations of themselves for the year. Now what would that be if a short time into it, you just quit? That would mean that you do not believe in yourself enough to follow through with your promises to yourself.

While quitting is the easy way out of things, it doesn't allow room for you to grow and better yourself. The resolution isn't about being the best or getting far beyond what is capable. But pushing yourself and challenging yourself to do better, and by the end of the year you'll make progress. though it may not be all the progress you hoped of, you still came out better than where you started.

So I ask you, do you have what it takes to keep your resolution alive?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
