We all have our favorite childhood cartoon. Be it "Hey Arnold," "Ed, Ed, and Eddy," or "Fairly Oddparents" we all had that one that spoke to us either through the humor, situations or characters. However, there is one I think that is constantly underrated. While quoting Spongebob seems like a second language and everyone sings the "Kim Possible" theme song but who ever gave "Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius" the credit he deserves. The show was funny, witty, irreverent and a geeky little kid like myself's dream. Carl liked llamas, Sheen Ultralord, and Jimmy's dad enjoyed wooden ducks and pie. What a life Jimmy lived and we need to reevaluate what a dynamic show came out of that.
The show had a little bit of everything, it made science cool, taught us that the girl picking on you had a crush on you, took you to space, and let you travel in time. The jokes were phenomenal and the characters quirky and fun. Everyone wanted to live in Retroville and have a can purple flurp and a sundae from the Candy Bar. The holidays specials were incredible, who didn't love halloween where the monsters were real and pie centered Christmas called Pule. It was so great. I can't fangirl Jimmy Neutron enough because he brought us Brobot and Thomas Edison back to life, not to mention an angry mummy that made Libby's hair chic as can be. I am just saying, we should all go back and soak in the oddities of it all. So this is my plea for everyone to please rewatch and remember how great Jimmy Neutron was, because yes, it is underrated and we need to bring it back to the spotlight it has always deserved.
