Why Jay Pryor Needs To Be On The Guest List (Or At Least Playlist) Of Your Next House Party
Jay Pryor

Hosting a house party and don't know what to play? Look no further than Irish artist Jay Pryor, an up and coming electronic producer/DJ that'll leave you no choice but to dance like no one is watching.

Drumming on a drummer's pad since the very beginning of his childhood in addition to forming a small three person band with his mates, it's almost as if Jay was born with the music already in him.

Not even a health scare leaving him in and out of the hospital for over a year could keep Jay from pursuing his passion. In fact, it's that very incident that made him step out of his safety net, which happened to be pursuing graphic design at the time. He chose wholeheartedly to chase DJing, making remixes, and making music uniquely crafted to his distinct style at the young age of 19 years old. It's music that's sure to make your ears perk up.

When it comes to remixing music, he feels as though nothing better can pay homage to a certain song that brings you memories or takes you back to places and people you love. It's about paying tribute to the music that has helped shape you into the person, or in his case, artist, you want to be.

"I think it's cool because listeners can relate to how most artists feel when they remix a song, like as a listener you can listen to a certain song and it will bring you back to a certain place or, you know, everyone has that song where they're like "oh remember Miami in 2008??" It brings you back to a place and you want to refresh that memory and give it a new life and pay homage. I think everyone can relate to that."

Nothing is more inspiring to Jay than traveling the world and seeing different cultures react to his live performances differently. We are all so unique, but it's music that unites us.

Latest single 'So What' out March 8th! Jay Pryor

His newest single 'So What' comes out March 8th and it's a song you definitely won't want to miss. Go ahead and add it to your hype playlist now. What does the man himself have to say about it?

"I feel like there are so many societal restrictions today. People are getting judged for every single thing they say or do. Growing up should be about doing dumb shit, making mistakes and learning from those mistakes. People are becoming less and less unique everyday because they're too scared to be themselves, do dumb shit and build their own unique personality. 'So What' is a song that questions this. Yeah I got with my ex last night, yeah I drank on a school night, yeah I dropped all the money in my bank account on a new outfit, So What?"

As far as advice he has for young artists like himself emerging into the music industry,

"It's not all rainbows and sunshine, it's a really tough industry and you're gonna get shot down a lot. Be aware of that because the industry has a toll on people's mental health. I think one of the things that can help that is just awareness that if you're getting into music it's actually super tough. You really have to love it if you're going to pursue it and a good reason behind it or I don't think it will last tong."

His newest single 'So What' comes out March 8th and it's a song you'll shamelessly have on repeat.

Stream 'So What' here NOW so you can be in the know as the music industry buzzes about this newly emerged masterpiece.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
