September 21st marks the first day of fall, and if you are anything like me you are stoked. To celebrate the beginning of the best time of year, I have made a list of the things I love about fall. So curl up with your pumpkin spice latte and a cozy blanket, and get ready for the best time of year!

1. Perfect Weather

Living in the south can be great, but the weather can be hard to deal with. The summers are boiling, and the winters can still get pretty chilly. Essentially the only nice part of the year is the autumn. It is just cool enough to feel the seasons changing, but not too cold to need to keep inside. So enjoy the nice weather by getting outside and soaking it up, because it is fleeting!

2. Flavors and Scents

Along with fall comes some of the best flavors and scents to spice up your life. Even if the PSL isn't your style (but come on, you have to admit it's delicious), there are tons of options. My favorites are spiced chai, maple pecan, or even cinnamon. From coffees to candles to body products, the flavors and scents of fall can always put me in a good mood.

3. Activities

The turn of the season also means the funnest activities are coming. Pumpkin patches are always fun, and then you can take turn the pumpkins you get into a fun arts and crafts night by carving or painting them. The fair is also fun on a crisp autumn night, from riding the scrambler to splitting a funnel cake with your friends. If getting spooked is more your style, try finding a haunted corn maze to get lost in. My personal favorite is to go to a local brewery and try all of their fall beer selections. So plan a fun fall date night with your partner, or even a group of friends!

4.Holidays

The two best holidays of the year are in the fall: Halloween and Thanksgiving. Halloween is the perfect excuse to throw a party. There are tons of DIY decorations online, from fake blood recipes to easy cobwebs using materials from places like Walmart or the Dollar Store. Make a fun halloween playlist (don't forget to include Monster Mash, it is a classic), and invite everyone. Liven things up by hosting a costume contest, with a giftcard to somewhere like Starbucks as the prize. And of course you can't forget about Thanksgiving. Its always fun to spend with your family, but it is also a good excuse to get with your friends. Try having a potluck where each friend brings their favorite Thanksgiving dish, and you all have a nice dinner together.

5. Outfits

Finally, probably my favorite thing about fall is the clothes! Leggings and boots are not only comfy but fashionable, and pairing them with a sweater is always a go-to. If you want to update your fall wardrobe, the best way to do it is to stop by a thrift store (Goodwill is my favorite) and grab a bunch of oversized sweaters. You can layer them over a t-shirt and they never go out of style!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Whether you met your new love interest online, through mutual friends, or another way entirely, you'll definitely want to know what you're getting into. I mean, really, what's the point in entering a relationship with someone if you don't know whether or not you're compatible on a very basic level?

Consider these 21 questions to ask in the talking stage when getting to know that new guy or girl you just started talking to:

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
