Struggling with Instagram story download? Instagram stories help you to get an insight into countless users’ lives. No matter if you follow them or not. As we all are aware that Instagram stories are up for viewing only for 24 hours post which these stories tend to disappear. In such a situation you are left only two ways to download an Instagram story, these are:

Recording or screenshot:

In order to save a story anonymously directly into your phone’s storage or gallery, you can either enable screen recording or take a screenshot. If you consider to take a screenshot the biggest drawback is that you can only screenshot pictures not videos. In order to record videos you can use screen recording feature on your device.

In order to enable screen recording for iPhone:

  1. Go to settings and then navigate to “control center” option.
  2. Once you tap on the “control center” option, you can “screen recording” option there, tap on this to enable screen recording feature on your iPhone.
For android, you can find the screen record option in quick settings above the notification panel. Swipe down or up on the home screen to reveal the notification panel, you can see a “screen recording” option on this panel click it to start screen recording. This way you can easily record the story of any user.

Using third-party application:

The alternate method to download and save any story to your device is using a third-party application. There are several third-party applications that allow you to download Instagram stories easily. These applications use API Networks to fetch Instagram stories and make them available for download. One of the best Instagram story downloading app is smihub. smihub is a third-party application that not only enables you to download Instagram stories, but also helps you to view these stories anonymously without the user whose story it is being notified of. In order to download Instagram stories using smihub follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to Instagram and copy the username of the person whose story you wish to download.
  2. Install the smihub app on your device or open smihub website to use the Instagram story downloader.
  3. Paste the username into the field provided and initiate search by clicking on the search button provided.
  4. Smihub enlists all the stories posted by this user, play the story and click on the download button over the story to download it into your phone’s gallery.
