8 Fights You've Definitely Had If You're From New Jersey

No, it's NOT like the Jersey Shore.

There are hundreds of perks that come with living in New Jersey. Whether you love the miles and miles of shoreline, mountain ranges, or delicious food, some things just can't be replicated in any other state. Unfortunately, if you are from New Jersey, you've had to argue — a lot.

Here are 8 fights you've definitely had if you're from New Jersey:

1. Finding the best diner in the state.

If there's one thing that New Jersey residents love to fight about at 2 am, it's which diner to pay a visit. There are tons to choose from, and no two are quite alike. We've had some famous diners make appearances on shows like "Diners Drive-Ins and Dives" (We've actually had 8, but who's counting?). If you're looking for breakfast at midnight or tacos at 8 am, a diner is the only place you'll be able to get exactly what you're looking for.

2. Which beach to vacation at.

The only thing we have more of than diners are beaches. In New Jersey, there's a special place we call "The Shore." If you've ever spent a summer in the sand, no matter where you are on the eastern coast of Jersey, you've spent summers at the shore. With over 130 miles of coastline, there are more beaches than there are days in the average school summer vacation! If more than one town is near and dear to your heart, expect to fight for spots on the beach and days to fit them all in.

3. Pork roll or Taylor ham.

Firstly, there is no right answer. Unless you have a different answer than the person you are arguing with. Then there is definitely a right and wrong answer. Whether you believe its "pork roll" or "Taylor ham," only New Jersians have the privilege of arguing over this delicious breakfast food. You can eat it on its own, on a bagel, or scrambled into eggs. However you choose to enjoy it, be prepared to argue about its name every time you order it.

4. North or South Jersey

New Jersey is the only state that is unofficially split in two. If you are from North Jersey, there is no chance that you will ever agree with someone from the south. Living in the same state sounds like it would come with many similarities, but people from New Jersey just can't seem to agree on anything. If you ever find yourself arguing with someone from the other side, you'll definitely want to saw off part of the state.

5. Bruce Springsteen vs Bon Jovi.

While they're both legends in their own right, you've for sure had a debate about who is better. Bruce is known as "The Boss." No one can forget famous hits from Bon Jovi like "Livin' on A Prayer." There has been conversation about whether the two are good friends, or prefer to remain rivals in a very competitive industry, but one thing is clear: The two have shared the stage together at least 14 times since 1980. Even if the two are friends, having a debate with any of your friends over these two is sure to end some friendships.

6. Giants or Jets.

It's complicated having not one, but two teams that (sort of) belong to your state. The divide between Giants and Jets fans could not be any more real, and being from New Jersey only heightens the tension. Both teams play in the Metlife Stadium, located in East Rutherford New Jersey. No matter your reasoning, if you've got a different favorite team than your friends, you can kiss the possibility of going to games together goodbye. The last time these two rivals played head to head was in 2015.

7. Yes, We have the best bagels

This is something all New Jersey residents can agree on. We have the best bagels in the world. Some say that there's something in the water that makes them the best, but who's to say exactly what makes them so good? If you don't think that the bagels alone are enough to earn New Jersians the best breakfast spot, just try some super exclusive Taylor ham/ pork roll on your next Jersey bagel.

8. No, we aren't all like the cast of The Jersey Shore.

And finally, if you are from New Jersey, you've gotten this question a million times. If you're lucky someone will ask, and not assume, if you are anything like the cast members from the Jersey Shore. Out of the 8 main characters, only 2 were even from New Jersey! They were arguably the tamest of the bunch and still knew how to have tons of fun. If you're ever debating asking a New Jersian if it's anything like this ridiculous show, save your breath.

Every state comes with its perks — some more than others. There's something special about everything New Jersey has to offer, and there's something even more special about having to argue your points to everyone who asks. But who can blame you? New Jersians love to be right.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
