With the start of December and the college football season coming to an end, Christmas movies have taken over the television. The SEC West is well-known for its passion and spirit, just as the most iconic Christmas movies entail. Here are the 7 SEC West football teams as Christmas movies.

1. University of Alabama- A Christmas Story

Alabama is the classic SEC West team that everybody knows and recognizes. Love them or hate them, Alabama plays a vital part of the SEC West football line up, just as A Christmas Story is important in any Christmas movie marathon. Just as Ralphie is set on getting that Red Ryder B.B. gun for Christmas, Alabama’s mission is to take Clemson down for the National Championship title on New Year’s Day.

2. University of Arkansas- Home Alone

Arkansas seems to be the team that is always getting left behind, just as Kevin was in both Home Alone and Home Alone 2. But no matter the struggles they endure throughout the football season, Arkansas never fails to put on a good show for its fans.

3. Auburn University- How The Grinch Stole Christmas

Auburn is a team that everybody loves to hate, even after they prove themselves as a competitor. Just as the Grinch swooped in to steal Christmas, Auburn stole the undefeated status from Alabama in the Iron Bowl this past football season, giving them 1st place in the SEC West and a chance to compete in the Peach Bowl on New Year’s Day.

4. Louisiana State University- The Santa Clause

Louisiana State is a classic powerhouse team that seems to always be forgotten about. Like Scott Calvin in The Santa Clause trilogy, Louisiana State takes on the role of a miracle maker for its fans at every game held in Tiger Stadium.

5. Mississippi State University- The Polar Express

Mississippi State is the epitome of the saying “if you believe, you can achieve,” just as the Polar Express was for all of its passengers. Mississippi State is fueled by the spirit and support of its fans, making it a great all around team to watch during the season.

6. Ole Miss- National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation

Ole Miss has been a bit of a toss-up the past few football seasons, leaving fans not knowing what to expect. Nevertheless, like National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, through all of its challenges, the team still comes out as a classic and essential part of the SEC West lineup.

7. Texas A&M University- Elf

Texas A&M is a widely recognized team for the amount of spirit it embodies, just as Buddy does in Elf. No matter the circumstances, Texas A&M’s fans are always behind them and rooting for the best. Known for its 12th Man tradition, Texas A&M is the standard definition of a well-knit team, bringing happiness and cheer to each game of the season.

AI music threatens creativity

The Soul of Sound: How AI Challenges Human Expression in Music

Humans and robots face off in a rock band battle with guitars and drums, under dynamic lighting.
StableDiffusion

In an age where artificial intelligence can mimic the voice of Freddie Mercury or reimagine pop hits as synthwave ballads, a new frontier has emerged — one that blurs the line between innovation and erosion. While AI offers undeniable benefits in technical domains, its intrusion into creative arts, especially music, raises urgent questions. Not just about copyright, but about culture, education, and the very soul of artistic expression.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Why Your Astrological Sign May Not Match Your Personality

We are all more than just one sign.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
