I Used To Be A Dog Person, But Now Cats Have My Heart

Growing up we always had a dog, but as soon as we got a new cat my perspective completely changed

When I was little, I begged my dad to get us a dog. He kept saying they were too much work and blah blah blah, but eventually we got a dog. The dog breed that I WANTED. It was a cavalier king charles spaniel. We named him Max. He was absolutely the best dog. And he's still around today! Don't worry, I still love him! But I've changed my mind over time that I favor cats over dogs.

I currently own 3 dogs and 7 cats. Yes I said SEVEN! I love all of my animals, but somehow I favor the cats. In my personal opinion, I can get more love from a cat. I feel as though they love me back. Dogs can show love and affection, but with cats it's just different for me.

I feel like I have always had some kind of animal in the house. I don't even know how I would've been without an animal. Animals are vey similar to friends. You know that they will always be there for you no matter what. They will never judge you. Dogs and cats are great companions for anybody! They are almost like children, and the best part- they don't talk back!

Cats are great cuddlers, and yes dogs are too. But in my opinion, I like kitty cuddles more because they actually stay in my bed for a decent amount of time. My dogs may stay and visit me for about 20 minutes, but after that, they are gone. My cats stay in my bed all day! I love waking up with them in the morning, and going to bed with them at my feet. And some of your dogs may be extremely good cuddlers, but mine aren't.

I prefer cats now because they are not high maintenance. You don't have to bathe them (a lot) or take them on walks. They are so independent. Yes you have to clean a litter box, but it's a lot better than picking up huge piles in the yard. They also exert energy differently than dogs. My cats are indoor and outdoor so they go outside during the day and play. When they come in at night, they are tired and they are calm and sweet. My dogs however don't really know how to use up all of their energy, so they aren't as calm when I get home at night.

A lot of people think cats are mean. And I agree that yes, sometimes they are mean. When I was a dog person, I believed that all cats were mean. I learned that you have to be kind to them and they'll be kind to you. You just have to spend time with them, like you would with a puppy. Once you've formed that special bond with them, they'll love you forever!

A cat purring is definitely one of my favorite sounds. Knowing that they are happy makes me happy. Dogs wag their tails and i'm not gonna lie, that is really cute, and it has a similar effect. But cats just had a different way of showing their affection to you.

Animals are amazing and I hope that every household has a furry friend! Whether you prefer cats or dogs, it's all up to you! I just love cats so much for their fun personalities and all the ways they can love their owners!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
