It doesn't take much to lend a hand. Whether you have the funds or not, you can help a person or family in need. Social media has become such a powerful, impactful platform for individuals to get their message(s) across.
As a result of 911 system failures, victims of the hurricane are logging onto Facebook and Twitter, sharing their name and location (address) in hopes that someone, somewhere will be able to help. You could be that someone. Below are three ways that you can help (even if you DON'T live in Texas).
1. Pray
Because what can't God do, right?
2. Donate Money
CAUTION: make sure you knowwhereit's going. Do research before donating. You can donate to specific organizations (for kids, animals, people with disabilities; again, RESEARCH beforehand). There are many scammers out there who will take advantage of those in need.
3. Social Media
If you have a Facebook or Twitter, RETWEET AND SHARE posts that the victims send out on said platform(s). Hurricane Harvey is being called the "first social media storm" because of the way that victims are reaching out for help and being helped through Facebook and Twitter. Tag or "@" news outlets to raise awareness of the people reaching out in search and need of aid.

A retweet and a share can go a long way.
Stay safe everyone xo.
