How Do You Know God Is Real?

How Do You Know God Is Real?

How do you know God is real?

How do you know somebody didn't just make him up to make us all feel better and to make us all feel less alone?

Those are probably the biggest questions someone could ask. Let's just take a second to understand that God has not left us without any kind of evidence for His existence. God knows we would be kind of crazy to make up something to believe in. With that being said, He helps us discover the real thing. So here is the evidence He has left for us.

1. Nature.

Nature isn't just some random trees and grass. It's all put in a consistant order. Now here is a question, Could this consistant order and beautifully planned thing we call nature really happen without a designer to put it all together? I mean without a very personal, and caring creator does any of that seem possible? Explosions cause chaos and damage, Only a creator can cause this order and beauty.

2. Human Individuality.

No two humans are the exact same. I mean every human face has two eyes, a nose, a mouth, and yet all faces look different. If we were all created by some force why wouldn't we all just be identical? The differences of each person shows that there could only be a personal creator who values those differences of His creations.

3. Knowing the difference of Right and Wrong.

Let's say there is no good Creator and no personal God, Why do we have a sense of wrong and right? Every person at some point has a sense of what is right and what is not. That points to a Moral Creator. If not, it would all be a matter of personal preference. Even murderers have a sense of right and wrong when they are being convicted.

4. Love.

How did humans learn to care about each other? Why do people need their family long after they are no longer dependent on them? Why do men and women crave a romantic relationship with one another? I mean flowers don't marry other flowers. Humans have an ability to give and receive love. It has to be more than just instinct.

5. Jesus Christ.

He is much more than a teacher, prophet, and religious leader. How do we know that Jesus died and rose again, to never die again? No human can do that. Through Jesus, God showed people himself, what he is like.

6. The Bible.

The Bible comes directly from God himself. It says how God acted in the past, how to obey his word in the present, and how he will act in the future. The bible has archeological, historical, scientfic, and internal proofs. In 2 Timothy 3:16 it describes the Bible as God-breathed and useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.

Lastly from a personal point of view. When I walk into church and my Pastor is talking about exactly, word for word, what I am going through, or when I've prayed about something and received no answer, but also when I got the exact answer I needed. God does not just walk in and sit in front of our faces, but he is always with us if we seek him.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
