Recently, I spent some time overseas doing some shooting in Italy, and I took along some Ektar and some Ektachrome to shoot. I recently got into shooting slide film, and since Ektachrome got rebooted less than a year ago, I've really enjoyed shooting that stuff in particular. I knew I wanted to bring some Ektar along as well, because the boosted saturation of that film would compliment the colors of Venice well.

I liked the framing of this shot in a little courtyard in Venice. The colors are nice too since they contrast well in different areas of the image.

I liked the focal compression in this shot, that gives the illusion that the scene is flatter than it is. The blue sky also contrasts nicely with the sun shining on the building.

Speaking of the sky, I felt like the sky rendered really nicely on this film, and I really liked the cool tones of this shot.

I liked the framing of this shot showing some of the classic architecture around Venice on the shoreline.

I really liked the desaturation of this shot, and I felt like it had a really nice analog texture to it. I think the shadow play also keeps the shot interesting and pleasing.

I can't quite explain what I like about this shot, but I'm really fond of it for some reason.

Again, I liked the desaturation of this shot, and the nice subdued colors shown.

I liked this shot of a central area of Venice, because of the flag of Italy blowing in the breeze.
These last three shots show the wonderful colors of Venice.

Venice is amazing to see, especially from a photography perspective. I thought the content in Venice served the film medium really well, and I was really happy with a lot of my final shots from this trip. I would definitely recommend visiting if you get the chance!
