How To Revamp Your Desk Space

Changing our home space into one that's conducive to work requires extensive revamping. You may have to move things around or get rid of them from atop the desk permanently. Here are some really cool ways to revamp your desk space using stuff you already have in your home.

Moving from an office or a school to a home-based workstation can be quite a shift. Many of us have mentally separated home and work into distinct areas, and remote working and learning have forced us to blur that line. Our workstation at school or the office is crafted to perfection, with everything in its place. Changing our home space into one that's conducive to work requires extensive revamping. You may have to move things around or get rid of them from atop the desk permanently. Here are some really cool ways to revamp your desk space using stuff you already have in your home.

Need a Pen/Pencil Holder?

In your office, there's most likely a pen or pencil holder that serves to keep all your necessary stationery close at hand. If you don't have one of those at home, the solution is as close as your kitchen. Mugs or cups make for good makeshift pencil holders. The only issue is that you're likely to mistake them for your coffee cup, so you should remain alert. Ideally, place them in the corner of your desk far away from the mugs or cups you're currently drinking from.

Stop Your Books from Falling Over

Simple bookends are easy to make with a little printed cardboard and some well-cleaned rocks from your garden. They also add a bit of natural aesthetic to your workspace. As Company Bug mentions, decor can help you be more productive in an office. Just because you're working or studying from home doesn't mean your office shouldn't remain focused. These custom bookends help you to keep it that way.

Make Sure you Set the Mood

Your working space determines your productivity. A chef using a Legacy Countertops kitchen surface will want to make something memorable each time. The same goes for if you're going to make a pleasant environment for working or studying in a home office. Use candles to set the mood for work, with added light or their scents.

Flowers Can Add Personality

Everyone knows how much flowers can spice up interior decor. With the right scents (preferably those that complement your candles), you can make a workspace that's a joy to come to every morning. Those flowers don't even have to be specially ordered. If you have a garden that produces flowers, you can head out there and get a few to enhance your desktop's looks.

Decor With Purpose

Home offices are spaces that you don't really think about when you're putting together home decor. Even so, having a well-decorated home office helps to keep your motivation up. Journalists Resource mentions that working from home requires setting boundaries to maintain your mental health. Part of those boundaries can come from ensuring your office decor helps you get and stay on track while you work. It's not impossible to be as productive while working from home as you would be at your workplace or school. All it takes is a little revamping of your surroundings.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
