As 2017 is coming to an end, we often reflect on the past 365 days. Some people may not want this year to be over while others are dying for a fresh start. Even if you have mixed feelings on the year 2017 here are some ways to make 2018 the best year yet.

1. Leave all of your grudges in 2017

If someone did something to hurt you in the past year, or even before, move on from it! Looking back on things only makes it harder to move past them. Take a step towards being the bigger person - forgive and forget.

2. Be healthy - but not too healthy

Start the new year by improving your diet and exercising more but don't make too drastic of changes too quickly if you really want to stick to it. The key to success is consistency, not trying to transform from a couch potato to an iron man over night.

3. Try something new

Plan that trip you've always wanted to take, sign up for a new club, take electives that interest you. Make this year memorable by pushing yourself out of your comfort zone. You'll thank yourself later.

4. Take it one day at a time

A bad day doesn't mean a bad year. If you have a rough day or week, it's okay. You will get through it. Find a way to grow through what you go through and make the next day better.

5. Have fun

Don't take life too seriously! Enjoy each day and spend time with the people who are most important to you. Don't forget to spend time doing things that you enjoy.

2018 has so much potential to be the best year yet but it's all in your hands to make it so. Try following these tips (past the month of January) so you can live 2018 to it's fullest potential. Have a happy and healthy new year!

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
