We often hear the cliche piece of advice, "Live your life to the fullest," when we're debating on staying out too late, spending too much money or making less-than-intelligent decisions.
I think in many instances we use it as an excuse to be ridiculous and we leave it at that; it hardly ever gets applied to more aspects of our lives.
But what should living life to the fullest actually look like?
Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm thinking it could look like a lot of things...
For me it's waking up on a Monday morning with no complaints, ready to face the day.
It's laughing; every hour of every day.
It's about dancing in the kitchen and singing in the shower.
It's paying for the coffee order of the person behind you and reading books that produce tears in your eyes.
It's treating people like Jesus treated people; with radical grace and steadfast love.
It's watching good movies with good friends and recognizing that as a blessing.
It's knowing that your "bad day" would be a good day for a million other people and being grateful for that.
It's working really hard at your job and being satisfied with the simple fact that you did as you were supposed to.
It's about spending time studying and focusing, learning, and absorbing in your classes.
It's clean sheets, fresh fruit, quality time with the person you love.
A full, happy life looks differently for everyone but I think living our lives to the fullest can look pretty similar. I can't help but to think if we remind ourselves what a gift this life can be in all that we do, how different our days would be and our hearts would feel.
Let's be grateful, kind, and silly. Let's care about people and do the right thing, Let's recognize blessings and laugh uninhibitedly. Let's live life to the fullest.
