I'm the one weird person in the group that loves everything that comes with fall and Halloween, but I don't like Halloween. Let me explain...I love baking cookies and dressing up and carving pumpkins. I don't love haunted houses and being scared and the general uneasiness that Halloween brings. Also, I don't even know if it counts as an actual holiday, but that's an entirely different story. However, I love that it's the first time since Easter I can decorate my house to its fullest extent.
That being said, if you're like me and you like Halloween things, but not Halloween as an actual scary holiday, here are some things you can do to celebrate!
1.) Indulge in All. Things. PUMPKIN.
2.) Bake Some Pillsbury Cookies
The penultimate cookie of the Halloween season. Guarantee you'll end up eating the dough before you actually bake the cookies. Or you'll eat all of the cookies in one sitting. Either way, you know you look forward to Halloween because of these bad boys.
3.) Decorate!
Decorations don't have to be scary to be considered Halloween. Either go to Michael's and get all of the cute Halloween crafts, or start a Pinterest board of homemade Halloween decorations.
4.) Make the Perfect Costume
Personally, I love looking at cute DIY costume ideas. Plus, making something unique for Halloween instead of the 20 cat costumes you'll see is certainly going to make you stand out. Double plus, making the costume is half the fun.
5.) Throw a movie night
"Hocus Pocus" and all the "Halloweentown" movies? Throw in some tasty Halloween treats and crafts? Sign me up.
Get out there and get crafty, kids.
