Diabetes: Are You In Danger?

How many cookies have you stopped yourself from eating because you thought, "Hmm, I wanna make better choices for my health and not eat so much sugar?"

Recently, I watched a documentary on Netflix called "What the Health." This documentary shocked me by informing me of how much I had been lied to as a kid growing up. As kids, we are always taught that sugar only hurts your body and in the future, diabetes could eventually take your life.

But according to many medical specialists, apparently, we should not be afraid of sugar. The worst of the worst things to put into your body is food with high levels of FAT. One of the doctors in the video described it as eating a cookie. The sugar may lure you in, but the trans fat or saturated fat inside of the cookie is what will harm you. Foods which have high-fat contents such as processed meats such as bacon, pork or even chicken all have that fat built into it. What I struggle to comprehend was why this wasn't said more. Many doctors and specialists have said for years that sugar does not cause diabetes. But still, continued to this day, we hear that "sugar is what has caused most people to get diabetes." What was even more shocking was the amount of fat that we put into our bodies each day. This quality and quantity of bad food we put into our bodies could shorten our lifespan and eventually lead to death. With some simple changes in our diet, we could live longer and enjoy a hearty, healthy life.

Bruce Springsteen's Top 7 Lyrics

Everything Bruce says in his classic rock songs.

bruce springsteen album cover born in the usa

Anyone who was born and raised in New Jersey (or anywhere really) knows of Bruce Springsteen, whether or not they like him is a whole other situation. I hope that his hundreds of classic rock songs and famous high energy performances, even in his sixties he can put on better concerts than people half his age, are at least recognizable to people of all ages. Love him or hate him (I identify with the former) you have to admit that some of his songs and interviews have inspirational quotes and lyrics.

New England Summers Are The BEST Summers

Why you should spend your next summer in New England.

3027
Marconi Beach

Three years ago, I chose to attend college in Philadelphia, approximately 360 miles away from my small town in New Hampshire. I have learned many valuable lessons away from home, and have thoroughly enjoyed my time spent in Pennsylvania. One thing that my experience has taught me, however, is that it is absolutely impossible to beat a New England summer.
