Remember when we came into the New Year of 2017, those moments of pure exhalation and excitement of the New Year? Do you recall when we set out to create all of these New Years Resolutions of how we wanted to plan and tackle the New Year?

Don’t tell me that you’ve forgotten? Have you really not been doing what you said you wanted to do? Why do we make resolutions that will set us up to fail. First off, that’s why I don’t call New Year Resolutions, resolutions because of that exact reason. Recall my article from earlier this year, https://www.theodysseyonline.com/how-to-beat-the-stubborn-new-resolutions-of-2017

Well, what are your commitments to yourself? How are you treating yourself? How are you growing from your previous experiences? How have you been holding yourself accountable? If you haven’t been, what are you doing to start holding yourself accountable?

How are you going to quit that soda drinking? Maybe use La Croix or start loving kombucha? What about how much you’ve been eating out? Well, maybe start meal prepping on a Sunday after church.

Your goals are yours. Your life is yours. How are you trying to become your best self? Stop letting your excuses rule your life. Start living your best self and challenge yourself daily. As my wise sister once told me, “I do one thing a day that scares me and that can be something as big or as small as I want as long as its something that scares me.”

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
