The shoes in the picture above are the “Triple S” from Balenciaga, they’re bulky with multiple layers of plastic creating a 2-inch platform and yes, chances are they'll look way to big on you. Dispute all that, they are one of the most popular shoes on the market right now. They’re a must have and that clear because the “Tripe S” are sold out everywhere. But nothing compared to Balenciaga’s Speed Trainers, according to a new survey done by Lyst in partnership with the Business of Fashion, they’re the hottest produced in the world, not hottest shoe product. but this shouldn’t come as a surprise. In the same survey, the Paris based luxury fashion label was named the hottest fashion label in the world, taking the crown from Gucci and knocking then to 2nd.
Lyst does these rankings every quarter, the plat from tracks 4.5 million data points per hour from over 65 million annual consumers, five million products and 12,000 brands. They stated that Balenciaga‘s rise was due to “a new logo and Colette residency kept the brand top of mind, while Demna Gvasalia continues to design products that drive the fashion narrative online.” Additionally, they praised Gucci for being a “consistent performer.”
One of the more impressive shifts from Q2 is Virgil Abloh’s Off-White. Going from 34th place to becoming the third hottest fashion label, stealing the spot that once belonged Kanye West Yeezy’s brand. Abloh represents a new breed of fashion designers who elevate streetwear through high-end production and positioning their brand to appeal to millennials and Gen-Z consumers.
Finishing out their top ten is Vetements, Givenchy, Valentino, and Saint Laurent in their respective 4th,5th 6th and 7th spots. Stone island comes in 8th, and simpler to Off-White, Stone island jumped from 41th to 8, in part to the love shown by everybody favorite certain Canadian fanboy Drake. And closing the list in 9th and 10th spots are Moncler and Raf Simons respectively.
