10 Holiday Traditions For You To Try
Kristen LaMay

Yes, it is finally here. The greatest time of the year, Christmas! Even if you are sort of a bah-humbug type of fellow, you still might be sick of doing the same holiday traditions every year. I know after a few years I really need something fresh to try during Christmastime.

Rather than being bored doing the same ol' same ol', here are some great traditions for you and your family to try this year, or years to come!

1. Get the family together to watch a classic Christmas movie.

We all know that Christmas day is super busy. There are relatives running around like crazy trying to cook dinner, pick up last minute gifts, and watch all the kids. It seems like there is no down time to relax. How about this year, you get your family to take a break from all the Christmas madness to watch a classic film together.

2. Build a snowman in honor of someone.

It's simple and it's sweet.

3. Eat one of Santa's cookies, or open one gift on Christmas Eve.

Some people say that it's cheating, but I think it's just taste testing.

4. Sing Christmas songs, or go caroling.

Even if you can't sing, tis the season right?

5. Kiss a special someone under the mistletoe.

What's more romantic than this?

6. Play sports in the snow.

Dive right into the fun!

7. Attend a local Christmas bazaar.

Find that perfect, creative, and beautiful gift!

8. Have a gift wrapping party with friends.

While you're at it, jam to some Christmas music!

9. Decorate something you've never decorated before.

Like your television, or your dog, or your brother...

10. Donate or volunteer to the Salvation Army bell ringers, give gifts to Toys for Tots, or make/buy gifts to donate to nursing homes.

Be the greatest giver you can be!

What is your favorite holiday tradition? I hope everybody has a wonderful Christmas and a happy New Year!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
