Holding Your Breath

The Payoff is Worth it

18
Holding Your Breath
Charley Czajkoski

Do you ever get that feeling

Where you can’t breathe

Where your lungs fill with water

Where your mind is clouded

Where your body is useless

All because of one person

You let them coax you into the ocean

When you knew how rough the waves were

You gave them your hand

When you knew the water was too deep

You let them bring you far out

When you knew the current was strong

You gave them your trust

When you knew they wanted nothing to do with it

They grabbed your foot

And yanked you under

You cant breathe

Your lungs fill with water

Your mind is clouded

Your body is useless

You let them pull you under

So deep

You couldn't swim up

Under so much water

You collapse

Don't let them get a hold of you

Because who knows how deep the water may be

I first wrote this poem a while ago. We all get overwhelmed and and some of us give in too easily. I've never been someone to do something halfway. I firmly believe that one should always do things with their full self and full heart, but with that being said you have to be careful. You have to know that life isn't always fair and that not everyone is going to treat you right. Giving yourself fully can be the most amazing thing in the world but it can also cause some of the worst pains. But i can safely say that the pay off and the chance is worth it.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
