The color purple is the color for symbolizing women and the color purple is known as the international color of women. Historically the combination of purple, green and white to symbolize equality for women originated from the Women’s Social and Political Union in the United Kingdom in 1908. The color purple signifies justice and dignity. The National Woman’s Party suggest wearing purple on International Women’s Day since the color purple is the color of loyalty, constancy to purpose, unswerving steadfastness to a cause. The color purple is also the color of dignity and self-respect and signifies bipartisanship.
