Don't tell me it’s just a headache...
...until you know what it's like laying on the shower floor, praying the scalding water and menthol scent will take the pain away.
...until you have to force back vomit while you make yourself brush your teeth.
...until you limit yourself taking your prescription pain medication because you worry if you'll have enough to last through the month.
...until you have to take breaks in between putting on your pants because the movement makes the pain worse.
...until you stay up all night, tossing and turning, trying to find the most comfortable position and end up getting no sleep.
...until your whole body aches even days after the initial migraine.
...until your vision becomes so blurry, you can't make out your own brother's face.
...until you have to beg your mom to come get you because you can't drive home.
...until you succumb to the pain, lie down, and become even further behind on homework.
...until the smell of your favorite food makes you sick and the lights of your favorite study place make you feel dizzy.
...until you have to limit yourself from rollercoasters, 3D movies, strobe lights, or food - whatever the trigger may be.
...until you unwillingly skip important family/friend/work events and feel guilty you were the reason plans were cancelled.
...until you have to call into work or skip school multiple times and your coworkers/classmates question your intentions.
...until you try numerous of new remedies trying to lessen the pain.
...until you continuously and repeatedly throw up and have no option but to go to the hospital and seek help.
Until then, don't tell me it's "just a headache."
