20 Hard Pills To Swallow

You will never be perfect.

There are a lot of things in life that we refuse to admit. Some of them fall below a comical category and the others are straight up sobering. We are not and will never be perfect people, our mental health is more important than pretty much anything, and you most likely will not marry the first person you just KNOW you will marry.

A lot of us know that these things are valid, however, we just choose not to accept them. Maybe it's time that we do.

1. He/she is NOT thinking about you, go live your life

2. Your mental health is more important than a job that does not pay you enough

3. Friends can break your heart, too

4. Your relationship will never be perfect

5. You can not claim that you are a Christian and treat people who are not like you like garbage

6. Toilet paper is expensive.

7. You're most likely not going to marry that guy/girl from high school

8. Nobody is going to fix you, you have to fix yourself

9. That person is not mad at you, they're just busy and will get to you when they can.

10. Communication is essential to any relationship.

11. You can not grow if you remain comfortable.

12. Jesus died for that person that you hate, too.

13. Someone holding you accountable is not that same as someone judging you.

14. If they wanted to, they would.

15. Not everyone loves the same way you love.

16. You not liking something is not an invitation to take it away from someone else.

17. Becoming an adult does not mean you can buy whatever you want.

18. Going to college does not make you more successful than someone else.

19. Not everyone you meet will like you.

20. Just because you say sorry doesn't mean its okay.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
