There are so many benefits to living in a college town. One of the biggest benefits has to be Knoxville's many happy hour specials. Here are some of my favorites!

Downtown Grill and Brewery

Looking for some of the best deals for your happy hour? DGB is the place to be! Happy hours are Monday-Friday 4-8 p.m.! This includes a discounted selection of menu items as well as $2.50 Craft Pints/Mugs, $4 House Wine, $3 Margaritas and Long Island Iced Teas, and free Doubles on well and calls liquor. Plus, Monday night poker at 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. and Wednesday trivia at 8:30 p.m.

Nama Sushi - Bearden

Nama Sushi has happy hour every day from 3 p.m.-6 p.m. On Mondays and Thursdays, they offer half-price select sushi from 4 p.m. until close as well as $4 glasses of house wine. Tuesdays are half off select bottles of wine from 3 p.m. until close and half-price fish tacos all day.

The Copper Cellar - Cumberland

The original Copper Cellar is a staple on the strip and their happy hour specials are some that you don't want to miss. Happy hour is Monday-Friday from 4 p.m.-9 p.m. Some of their featured specials include Monday night trivia, half-priced bottles of wine until 10 p.m. on Tuesday, all day burger day with burgers starting at $5.50 on Wednesday, and their Sunday brunch special with $4 Bloody Mary's, Mimosas, and Screwdrivers until 2:30 pm with Burger day after 3 pm.

Balter Beerworks

Everyone loves great food with their drinks and Balter Beerworks gives you just that! Their happy hours are Monday-Friday from 3-6:30 p.m. During that time they offer $3 craft beers, $1.50 tacos and sliders, $3 chips and queso, and $4 pimento and hummus plates.

The Half Barrel

Offering one of the best happy hour deal specials right on campus is The Half Barrel on the strip. Every day from 3 p.m.-8 p.m. The Half Barrel offers $1 off all drafts, $1 off all craft bottles, $0.50 off all domestic bottles, and $1 off wings. They also have specials each day of the week which include: Sunday Funday- $1 off domestic bottles and $6 wings, Poker Night Monday- Live poker at 10 p.m., $1 off domestic drafts, and $5 burgers, Tap Tuesday- $5 wings and $1 off a feature draft, Wet Whistle Wednesday- $1 off all drafts and half off appetizers, Trivia Thursday- Live Team Trivia at 9 p.m., $2.50 drafts, and $5 burgers, and Friday & Saturday- $1.25 off featured drafts.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine.
