Who doesn't love buying candy instead of getting it for free?

Halloween is that magical time of year where you can dress up as someone you aren't and eat as much candy as you want. Sure, it used to be more fun when you were little, but Halloween in college is still good, right? Instead of walking around outside and getting free candy usually wearing a coat that ruins your costume, you can wear whatever costume you want cause you're probably going to be partying inside.

1. Your costume

You're an adult, so you can put together the best costume without worrying about anyone's approval. The only restriction is your budget, which is a big restriction.

2. Student Organization parties

You're involved in a lot, so the week of Halloween, you go to every one of your student organization parties wearing the same costume. These parties are fun but not crazy, which is probably a good thing.

3. Not school related parties

These are the parties where you wear your sexy costume and freeze walking from your car to the house. These are sort of like the student organization parties but with less ice breakers and more alcohol.

4. Staying home

Parties aren't for everyone. Yeah, you miss dressing up and going out, and you miss seeing the cute trick-or-treaters. But since you live in a dorm, you don't have to share your candy with anyone, except maybe your roommate.

5. Watching Halloween movies

I love Halloween Town as much as the next person, but movies you watched as a kid just aren't as good when you watch them later. That won't stop you from watching the entire series, Hocus Pocus, and Harry Potter though.

6. Watching scary movies

Scary movies are basically Halloween movies, so you mix candy into your popcorn and play your favorite scary movie series.

6. Eating Halloween candy

When you were little, you probably used to dump out your candy and trade with friends. Now you only buy the kind you like and eat way too much of it since there's no one to stop you.

7. Staying up until midnight

Even when Halloween was on a school night, I would stay awake until 12 AM, the witching hour. It used to be magical even though nothing special would happen. Now you stay up past midnight on a regular basis, and it's magical if you go to bed at 11 PM.

8. November 1

When you were little, you would go to school the next day still full of candy and excited to eat more. Now you wake up hungover, you fight the crowd at Walmart to get your discounted Halloween candy, and you're ready for Thanksgiving Break. It's officially time to start counting down the days until it's Christmas.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
