Hallmark Movies May Have The Same Plot, But There Is Something Magical About Them

Let's be real, we all still watch them anyways.

Hallmark is known for their ornaments, their cards, and their movies; especially their Christmas movies, but sometimes they can get a little repetitive. I keep running into this picture on Facebook talking about how all the movies tend to have the same plot, but we still act surprised when the girl falls for the small town guy. And it is SO true. Once you start watching a lot of Hallmark movies, you will see that they tend to follow a similar general plot line. But I am a sucker for a Hallmark movie any day. And I will admit that they do a pretty great job of taking that general plot line and putting a lot of different spins on it.

Whether the plot line is the same or there is always a decision to leave the big time CEO for the small town guy, Hallmark movies are so much more than that. They have this certain magical touch to them. And it isn't just their Christmas movies, but those are some of the best.

Hallmark movies are able to have you sitting there and then by the end of the movie you are so deeply invested, you don't care that some of them have similar storylines. Their movies are always ones that are enjoyable and wonderful to watch. Whether you're by yourself or your watching with friends or family, they are movies that everyone can enjoy.

This past week they ran a holiday special as a Countdown to Christmas with a new movie almost every night. So between the regular Hallmark Channel and the Hallmark Movies & Mysteries Channel, there was a lot to watch this week. Now my mom and I are suckers for Hallmark and holiday movies so this was a win-win. She was even able to mark off what movies we watched on the Hallmark app; which is pretty genius if I do say so myself. We watched so many Hallmark movies this week I can barely keep track, but I loved every single one of them.

It doesn't matter if the movies have similar plot lines or maybe not always the best actors, it's how the movie makes you feel. No matter what the circumstances, Hallmark movies will always make you smile. All of their movies, not just the Christmas ones, have so many wonderful things about them. You don't want to ever miss a second of it because you want to be able to see the whole story and root for the character. They are definitely the movies where you rush around to do what you need to on the commercials so you don't miss a second of the movie.

They have the ability to make you laugh, love and cry all in a span of two hours and I think that is getting harder and harder to find, especially in movies that the whole family can watch. There are so many things that Hallmark movies can teach us, everything from the importance of family to seeing what you really deserve in a relationship, as well as the importance of following your heart.

Hallmark movies are something that brings the family together and helps show us and remind us of the things that are really important in life. Now if that isn't magic, I don't know what is.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
