Despite the title, Gus Dapperton is alive and well. This 23-year-old has been launched into the indie-pop scene from a young age. At just 20 years old, his 2017 single went viral which led to his break in the music industry. Followed by EPs and singles that are now leading up to an LP launch in the Fall.
The distribution company he is signed to [AWAL] calls him a "triple threat", but only because he is a complete badass. Being that he is a singer-songwriter, producer, and instrumentalist he helped design an artist sound that is unlike any other.
After launching two EPs, his career began to speed up when asked to create a song for the Netflix series, Thirteen Reasons Why. With that big title under his belt, he is stopping at nothing. Among his achievements, his newest single has landed a spot among the playlist Lorem. You can expect to hear Gus Dapperton very soon.
This September you can also anticipate the new album Orca with a large variety of analog-instrumental indie music. His newest release "Post Humorous", is only the first step towards major chart climbs.
In an Instagram post, Dapperton says that the newest single leading up to his album is a reflection of someone who "treats life like a joke and death like a victory". He proceeds to let fans see the vulnerability behind his inspiration for this song, "It's really gratifying to lock those demons away in a sonic form and access them at will whenever I want, whenever I wanna go back and learn from the person I was back then."
