It's always a great time to read books but summer is the best time because you don't have class or homework to do. So if you want to crack open a new novel, or even just want a fun beach read, look no further then this list.

1. Postcards From The Edge

If you want to read a book about the dark side of fame and movie stars out in California, this book written by the late, great Carrie Fisher is the book for you. It was even made into a movie co-starring Meryl Streep!

2. Watchmen

If you like superheroes, politics, and/or the 1980s and are either into graphic novels or want to try reading one, this is the novel for you. With beautiful illustrations, an ingenious plot, and some absolutely fascinating fictional characters, Alan Moore and Dave Gibbon's book is amazing.

3. The Time Traveler's Wife

This book makes for a great beach read. It's depressing at times but it's mostly a beautiful love story about a woman and her husband who time travels.

4. Station Eleven

If you're into apocalypse stories but you always found the society collapsing plot more interesting then the zombies, this book is for you. It's a book that covers before, during, and after an apocalypse filled with beautiful storytelling and well-rounded characters.

5. American Gods

Neil Gaiman writes wonderful sci-fi books and this is probably his best yet. It's about old and new worlds colliding, religion vs technology, and about clashes of culture. It's beautiful, it's gross, and it really takes the best out of mythology and makes it even better.

So if you're looking for a book to read this summer, I hope you pick up one of these. You definitely won't regret it. Happy reading!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

The Importance Of Being A Good Person

An open letter to the good-hearted people.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
