Hebrews 4:16 – "Let us therefore come boldly into the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need."
There is something beautiful about grace that is sometimes not discussed in conversations about God. Grace is something that you seek. It is an attribute of God that He bestows upon us. Grace is the free and unmerited favor of God, and it is manifested in both sinners and in God's blessings towards us. When talking about grace, there is something we need to remember. We can also find grace within ourselves. Finding grace within ourselves requires making the choice to see ourselves for who we really are and accepting the journey that God has placed us on toward living out our salvation day by day.
Often when we are learning to find grace in ourselves, we must acknowledge that grace comes only from God. When we receive grace from Him, we can then receive grace from ourselves. Receiving grace from God opens our eyes to see how He sees us. No longer are we blinded by our actions or our thoughts. We are opened to the truth of God and the truth of ourselves. Grace can display itself in our lives as not only reverence toward God but also as self-love toward ourselves. Grace is a choice to choose Christ and to choose ourselves. When we give gifts to ourselves, it is an outward display of receiving grace from God.
Also, in choosing grace for ourselves, we must accept where God has placed us in our own journeys. When we accept it, we are no longer impatient and focused on getting to the next thing. This teaches us to depend on the God who holds everything and allows where we are to propel us forward toward living out our salvation day by day.
Today, sons and daughters, choose to not only accept the grace of God but also to accept grace for yourselves and allow that to propel you forward on your journey of living for Christ every day. Never forget the value you hold in God's eyes, and never forget that you also hold value to yourself.
