Have you ever just been stuck? You get up every day, put your best foot forward and try really hard but nothing seems to be going right. If it's not one thing it's another. I feel like it's safe to say we have all had a time or two like this in our lives, and if you haven't yet, well... be prepared because it will hit you when you least expect it, and it sucks to be quite honest. When life is hitting you left and right it's so easy to fall into a slump and be unmotivated and discouraged and you can start to lose your faith a little. Music is something that I have found helps tremendously with lifting spirits, getting out of that slump and reviving faith so here is a list of the top 12 songs, in no particular order, I turn to when I need a little pick-me-up.

1. 'The Breakup Song' - Francesca Battistelli

We are breaking up with fear ladies and gents! Fear is a liar and if you need to let fear go and tell it who's boss there is no better way to do it than screaming this song at the top of your lungs on the car ride to work.

Favorite lyric: "Fear you don't own me there ain't no room in this story and I ain't got time for you telling me what I'm not like you know me well guess what, I know who I am."

2. 'Who You Say I Am' - Hillsong Worship

When you're feeling lost and you just don't know which way to go or what to do or who to be, this song will speak truth into your life. This song will remind you who you are and whose you are.

Favorite lyric: "Free at last, He has ransomed me His grace runs deep. While I was a slave to sin Jesus died for me. Who the son sets free, oh is free indeed I'm a child of God yes I am."

3. 'You Say' - Lauren Daigle

When you're fighting the feeling of not being enough and you feel like you just don't measure up to everyone around you or the person you want to be, it can be so discouraging and draining. This song gently reminds you that these feelings are lies and thieves of joy and it reminds you of what God says about you and who you are.

Favorite lyric: "You say I am loved when I can't feel a thing. You say I am strong when I think I am weak. You say I am held when I am falling short. When I don't belong you say that I am Yours."

4. 'God Only Knows' - for KING & COUNTRY

For when you feel alone and like you're fighting your battles all by yourself. For when you're afraid or too ashamed to want to ask for help. For when you wake up every day and walk around with a fake smile and then go home and cry alone in your room and you just feel like nobody knows what you're going through and no one would understand if you told them. This song reminds you that God knows all things, and He sees you and He understands you and He loves you.

Favorite lyric: "God only knows what you've been through. God only knows what they say about you. God only knows that it's killing you. But there's a kind of love that God only knows."

5. 'You Love Me Anyway' - Sidewalk Prophets

Sometimes we let our sin swallow us whole and we can just feel like we are so unworthy of God's love or we might think we've messed up so bad this time and there's no way He still loves me. That's not true though, and this song is the perfect reminder.

Favorite lyric: "I am the thorn in Your crown, but You love me anyway. I am the sweat from Your brow, but You love me anyway. I am the nail in Your wrist, but You love me anyway. I am Judas' Kiss, but You love me anyway."

6. 'Even If' - MercyMe

When you're going through something just plain awful in your life, whether it's illness, divorce, death of a loved one, etc. and it seems like you're praying and praying and nothing is changing this song is a great reminder to not lose hope. God is faithful even in the waiting.

Favorite lyric: "I know You're able and I know You can save through the fire with Your mighty hand but even if You don't my hope is You alone. I know the sorrow and I know the hurt would all go away if You just say the word but even if You don't my hope is You alone."

7. 'Worn' - Tenth Avenue North

For when you feel worn. For when life is just so hard that it feels like just getting up and getting through the day is a losing battle. For when you're losing your will to fight. This song is a cry to the Lord to come and help and remind us that there is rest and redemption in the arms of the Father.

Favorite lyric: "Let me see redemption win, let me know the struggle ends, that You can mend a heart that's frail and torn. I wanna know a song can rise from the ashes of a broken life and all that's dead inside can be reborn cause I'm worn."

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
