There are so many different dogs in the world to choose from, and each one deserves individual love and attention. If are planning on adopting a dog in the near future and you’re a dog person, (the best kind of person) then I recommend you adopt a Golden Retriever. Your life will only go up from the moment you welcome this sweet, blonde breed in your home. There are really only pros when having this dog around, which outweigh any cons (which there really aren't any cons associated with Golden Retrievers).

1. They are nicer than most people you know/

They have a heart of gold (Ha, get it?)

2. They comfort you when you're sad.

You will have your own personal, furry therapist.

3. They'll lick you uncontrollably.

Ok yeah sometimes it's annoying, but it's just their way of showing how much you mean to them.

4. They keep you warm when it’s cold.

No boyfriend? No problem, get yourself a golden.

5. They're super smart.

They will actually bring back the ball when playing fetch instead of sniffing it and running away.

6. They're playful and energetic.

They will join you on your morning runs and keep you motivated, or drag you with them while they go 75 MPH.

7. They get along well with others.

They are 100 percent kid & baby friendly and will be nice to your other pets (the ones you got before you realized how amazing Golden Retrievers were).

8. They live to please you.

So when they chew up your shoes, carpet, wall, clothes, house, car, etc, it’s SO hard to actually be upset with them.

9. They're extremely loyal.

They will never leave your side or intentionally do anything to upset you.

10. They are hairy comedians.

They'll always be there for when you need a good laugh and free entertainment.

11. They protect you.

They may just lick an intruder to death instead of actually hurting them, but they'll make sure to warn you of any potential harm.

12. They're always wearing smiles.

There's never a moment when they don't have a grin on their face.

13. Lastly, they are beautiful.

Would you just look at them?

Yes, you will probably find dog hair on just about every inch of your home and on your clothes, but that is the only minor inconvenience when owning this amazing pet. If you're having a bad day, just imagine coming home to this golden, peppy puppy ready to cheer you up. They are a variety of dog breeds out there, but from my experience with having Golden Retrievers, I just know for a fact they are your number one family canine.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
