As many of us are aware, the midterm elections are coming up. On November 6th, Wisconsin residents will be heading to the polls and casting their ballots. At least, I hope they will. I hope YOU will because your vote DOES matter and so does everyone else's. It is so insanely important to get out and vote because who we have elected affects everything.
On this Wisconsin ballot, you will see candidates for Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Secretary Treasures, Senator, Attorney General, and more. People will vote on whether or not they think marijuana should be legalized and people will vote on healthcare more or less. Honestly, many things are on the ballot without being blatantly obvious. You're choosing a healthcare system based on who you pick for senator and governor, you're choosing pro life or pro abortion, you're choosing gun reform or no gun reform. This election affects all of these things. It's just picking a candidate, it's choosing policy, and it's shaping the future of this country.
While this isn't a presidential election, it's still just as important. You're choosing who is going to be in charge of your state. You're also choosing someone to represent you in congress. This person can help make change happen in Washington and it's up to you to decide who that person is. Even if you don't like politics, you need to get educated and vote. I don't like going to the dentist but I still do it, because I know it's for my own good. It's the same situation; you may not like it but it's for your own good. Make the right choice, get out there and vote. The country is run by those who show up. So show up. Vote. So many people fought and died for this right, don't throw it away.
