Y'all might think that it is weird for this day and age, but I've never been to New York before this past weekend. This experience this past weekend has been one of the most eye-opening experiences that I've had. I thought I knew how to handle myself in a crowd because of my experience in theme parks, especially those in Orlando, FL. Walking around the city, I was hit by luggage and had smoke blown in my face; if I had a dollar for the number of times that I would be able to buy my husband and myself dinner in New York. Does that make me hate the city? No, and that's because I see the history overflowing from the architecture and the energy of walking around the city. I see the magic that a lot of people see in the city.
Now, would I want to live there? My answer is no because, on the last day of our stay in the city, I was ready to leave. There is only so much one can handle of that city. My favorite part of the trip was the food. There are so many options for food that one could take a lifetime of trips and barely finish the food tour. You have to think of the number of food trucks, vendors, bars and restaurants because it pretty much makes up every corner. My favorite restaurant that I had this past weekend is Marseille's on 9th Ave. The food was delicious and the service was amazing. I can't stop thinking of the french-pressed coffee and the Croque Madame.

Another favorite part of my husband and I's trip to New York was the sights. Now, I tend to hate large crowds, but that wasn't going to get in the way of our adventure through the city. Seeing the old architecture and the sights that we read about in books and see in the media feels amazing. We saw where they film the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon and where they place the Christmas Tree during the Holidays (they are close to each other). Growing up Catholic, I wanted to see St. Patrick's Cathedral and the fact that we passed by it without looking for it was a universal sign that we were supposed to be there.

I believe everyone should experience the big city at least once in their life. The experiences one would encounter differ from those in other cities. Imagine walking around in a live history book. If you are into the media, there are so many places to see that it would only make sense to visit. To see where The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon is filmed and where the Christmas Tree is placed during the holidays is a sight to see. One feels the magic of the city and the first sight can be overwhelming, but it's so worth it even if it is one time.
