Sometimes, I feel like I came out of my mother's womb with a fresh pair of glasses. That's how long glasses have been a part of my life. Ever since I could remember, I've always worn glasses. At least, I can't seem to find any childhood pictures where I'm not wearing them. If you're a true glasses wearer, then I'm sure you'll able to relate to these 11 annoyances we all go through.

1. Being the one with a glare in every picture

I'm telling you. It's so frustrating when you're about to take a bomb ass selfie, and the sun wants make you look like you don't have a left eye.

2. The finger prints and scratches that only you can see

It makes me want to take them off and break them right then and there.

3. Everyone thinking you're blind when they try your glasses on

No, Barbara I'm not blind. They're just not your prescription.

4. Always having to push them back up on your nose

If I had a dollar for every time I had to push up my glasses in a day, I strongly believe I'd be able to pay off my student loans and buy me a nice car.

5. Having to constantly clean them

We all know the struggle of having to make sure our glasses our clean. One smudge and our vision is screwed.

6. The feeling when you lose them

I really feel like this feeling is similar to losing a child. RT if you agree.

7. All of the questions that never seem to fade

"How many fingers am I holding up?"

"Have you ever thought about contacts?"

"Are you near sided or far sided?"

"Can you see without them?"

And the list goes on, and on, and on...

8. The struggle of trying to find the perfect pair

You might think you want to try something different, but you don't. So you're more than likely to get the same pair that you got last time with a hint of difference.

9. Being too afraid to check and see if they're broken after dropping them

My heart starts racing and the praying begins. They're usually not broken, but watch me have some karma for saying that.

10. The label of "hipster"

Just because I wear "hipster" glasses doesn't mean I like La Croix.

11. Getting told, "You should try contacts! You'd look so much better."

Ah, this one just might be my personal favorite. I love me a good back handed complement.

Wearing glasses has never really been my choice, but it makes me who I am. Everyone knows me as "Jessica with the glasses." As much as these comments and questions can get annoying, it's actually pretty funny how interested people who don't wear glasses get.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.
