Running Back

Returning: D'Andre Swift, Zamir White, James Cook, Prather Hudson, Brian Herrien

Incoming: Kenny McIntosh

Leaving: Elijah Holyfield

Impact: The Dawgs are going to be just fine at running back. Elijah Holy field is the only notable subtraction from a stacked group. Former five star recruit Zamir White will be joining the rotation after tearing his ACL before the 2018 season started. James Cook had a solid freshman season and has excellent potential. 4 star RB Kenny McIntosh committed to Georgia for the 2019 season which adds a good player to an already strong committee. Georgia will continue to have one of the most dominant running games in college football.

Wide Receiver

Returning: Jeremiah Holloman, Trey Blount, Demetris Robertson, Tyler Simmons

Incoming: Dominick Blaylock, Makiya Tongue

Leaving: Jayson Stanley, Mecole Hardman, Terry Godwin, Riley Ridley, Ahkil Crumpton

2nd year watch list: Tommy Bush, Matt Landers

Impact: Receiver is a position, like tight end, that will be experiencing a tremendous amount of turnover. The only receiver that played a major role in 2018 returning is Jeremiah Holloman. Tyler Simmons and former JUCO transfer Demetris Robertson had moments of brilliance in 2018 but will need to take their games to another level in order to replace some of the lost talent. Incoming 5 star recruit Dominick Blaylock should be able to step in and take on some of the load.

Quarterback

Returning: Jake Fromm, Matthew Downing

Incoming: Dwan Mathis, Stetson Bennett

Leaving: Justin FIelds

Impact: The most obvious headline here is the outgoing transfer of Justin Fields. That left Kirby Smart racing to find a competent backup to Jake Fromm. Freshman QB Dwan Mathis flipped his commitment from Ohio State to Georgia one Fields left because of the opportunity at backup. Mathis, unlike Fields, is prepared to accept a backup role and has openly stated that he will not cause any drama and is just here to help the Bulldogs win. Freshman Matthew Downing will likely battle with signee Stetson Bennett for the third string opportunity.

Tight End

Returning: Charlie Woerner, John Fitzpatrick

Incoming: Ryland Goede

Leaving: Isaac Nauta, Luke Ford, Jackson Harris

Impact: The tight end situation in Athens has hit a bit of a wall. Former highly touted recruit, Luke Ford, is transferring out of Georgia to be closer to his family. Isaac Nauta declared for the NFL Draft after a strong junior season. There is only one recruit coming in at the position. In his senior season, Charlie Woerner will need to step up and lead the unit comprised entirely of freshman and sophomores with little to no experience. Keep an eye on some late signing recruits or transfers jumping on board.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
