The new "Game of Thrones" poster was released, and oh my God, everyone is raving. The poster features Jon Snow, the character who's death overpowered the ending of season 5 and raised every question possible for season 6. Many refuse to believe he may be dead, and the poster fuels the fire within the hearts of all Jon Snow fanatics.
On the poster, Jon is wearing his Night’s Watch coat; in the scene of his death, he wears his Night’s Watch uniform without the coat, which means the poster suggests that he shall live on to wear his fur another day. Also, his face is turned down and his eyes are shadowed, which is convenient after "Game of Thrones" fans noticed that Jon’s eyes faded after his death from his distinct dark brown color to a slightly more greenish tone. Fans are left to guess if this color change is permanent and what it could mean for his future. Though Jon was killed by being stabbed repeatedly by renegade members of the Night’s Watch, none of them stabbed him anywhere on his face. On the poster, blood is smeared from his masked eyes, down the length of his nose to his lips. Is it his? Is it someone else’s? No one knows.
The poster has allotted a general acceptance of the fact that Jon will be returning to our screens in the April premiere, but how? Below are a few theories as to how the reanimation will occur:
1. Melisandre Will Bring Him Back
When character Beric Dondarrion died, Thoros of Myr, who worships the Lord of Light, brings him back to life. Melisandre is a priestess for the Lord of Light, and since Stannis (her first choice for king) is dead, she’ll need a new leader to follow and look after.
2. He Will Come Back as a White Walker
The King of the White Walkers had an intense stare-down with Jon after their battle. It seems unlikely that such tension would be created if it wasn’t meant to be important to the plot later on. Also, we’re not sure how White Walkers are made — all we know is that death is first required. Jon is dead, so as far as we know, he has the potential to rise again as a Walker — which would be extremely unfortunate considering I, for one, want him as King.
3. Jon Will Warg with Ghost
Jon’s half-brother Bran is able to warg or merges with his direwolf, and seeing as Ghost is one of the only direwolf left of all the Stark’s pets, he’s bound to be important. Bran wargs with direwolf whenever he is in trouble. What better time for Jon to warg with his own than when he was dying? The only issue is that Bran always returns to himself, so is it possible for Jon to warg with his direwolf and remain within him?
We all have to wait till April to find out.
