Game of Thrones, the HBO series based on the A Song of Ice and Fire novel series by George R. R. Martin, takes viewers to a realm of fantasy that engulfs the mind. Avid watchers know that a major part of the show is the music; it is what defines particularly emotional or exciting moments and draws the audience into the storyline. Unlike most popular television shows these days, the music used on the show isn’t taken from contemporary or famous songs, in fact there are no lyrics at all. Game of Thrones uses the unique instrumental stylings of composer Ramin Djawadi to draw the mind of the viewer into the depths of these immensely fantastical storylines.
Winter is coming for fans of Game of Thrones: Though the show has been revealed to be coming to an end after the eighth season, fans aren’t ready to release their claim on the Seven Kingdoms. Luckily for us, lead composer Ramin Djawadi isn’t ready to leave the Iron Throne behind either. A live Game of Thrones concert experience has been announced and will begin their 28 day tour in February of 2017. The tour will contain a full orchestra, choir, and visual footage from the show, as well as new footage created exclusively for the tour to bring the Seven Kingdoms of Weteros and Essos to life once again. (There is even talk of the use of pyrotechnics!)
You can hear an example of Ramin Djawadi's Game of Thrones music here.
Whether it is Daenerys Targaryen riding her dragons into battle, Jon Snow fighting White Walkers at The Wall, Cersei Lannister plotting to keep the power of the Iron Throne, or the remaining Stark children fighting for their lives and for Winterfell, this live experience promises to be one fans are eager to immerse themselves in.
