Fun Ways To Relieve Stress

Everyone recommends doing yoga or coloring one of the new mandala coloring books, but that stuff gets boring after a while. Here are a few creative ways to relieve stress or just take a break from all the commotion going on.

Fun Ways To Relieve Stress

Rock Climbing

Rock climbing is one of the most fun activities you will try. Regardless if you are just climbing around and testing your skills, or challenging yourself on the hardest vertical, it is such a fun activity that more people need to try. Not only is it super fun to do with friends, but you will also work new muscles and gain some great leg and hand strength.

Pottery Painting

Painting pottery is like coloring, but on something, you can use later on and show off to friends. Many towns have to paint your own pottery places where there are pre-made ceramics just waiting to be painted. Whether it is a little trinket or a mug, take a night out and paint something for yourself, a friend, or a loved one.

Do a Puzzle

Puzzles have such a bad rep of being an activity for lonely old people. However, don't knock them until you've tried doing a puzzle on wine Wednesday night. Think regular puzzles are too easy or boring? I challenge you to try to circular puzzles or, even harder, the double sided puzzles. Spend a few days racking your brain on a puzzle where both sides on the same image, then tell me they are only for lonely old people.

Bake Some Treats

Baking is always a fun and delicious way to take a break. Heat the oven up, get our your favorite songs to jam to and bake away. Everyone loves some homemade cookies or brownies, but why not step outside the box and try to create some holiday-themed cake pops or treats.

DIY Project

Have you ever thought about turning an old window frame into a unique photo display case? Pinterest is the mother load when it comes to DIY projects. Whether you want to create a festive holiday decoration, or are looking for ways to bring a new life to an old piece of furniture. The best part is you can even look up dollar store DIY projects for those of us living on a college budget.

Try a Fun Workout Class

Everyone has been all about the yoga fad that seems to have taken over the internet, but what about the other fitness classes there are? Consider something that you would have never thought of like aerobics, a spin class, or even an intro to dance class for beginners. They may not be a weekly habit for you, but they can be a fun little break to try something new and have a good laugh with friends.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
