It's interesting that whenever you mention that you're going out or doing something that isn't work on a "busy" week, you're immediately judged for your actions. I've always thought this theory was extremely dumb because it's usually one night of the week or sometimes two and people think that you've taken a horrible path in your life by going to a frat party instead of studying for a test that you've probably studied for previously in the week or even the same day.
Bottom line it's really interesting how people are always jumping to conclusions about how you should be acting or what you need to be doing, yet they most likely don't have their own lives together. You're in college and it's definitely normal for you to be going out and enjoying yourself and yes your grades may slip at times and staying on track might become difficult, but there's always time to recover and improve which is why things are constantly changing for everyone at school.
It's sad that people have this stigma that they've gathered based on a few experiences of seeing their friends slip, and progress those thoughts to judging others on what they do and how they live their own lives.
Going out one night of the week and possibly a day on the weekend can't really do too much damage to your GPA, there are so many other ways you could wind up failing out.
Even if you have an 8 am the next day, you'll probably make it to class with your hair in some type of weird bun along with your birkenstocks and hydroflask. It's always interesting to see what people look like when you get to your class the next day because there's always someone from every activity the night before trying to hold it together for just an hour in the morning.
There are usually the ones that hit the lib until 3 am or the ones that were at the frat's till 2 am and wound up feasting at highland market around 3 am consuming their favorite tapingo order. You will one hundred percent find all of these people in your 8 am's next semester or even 9:30-10:00 classes.
At the end of the day we all go out at night, whether you're stuck at the lib for hours or you're thriving at your favorite frat party for most of the night we can all relate on so many levels. That's why it's important for us to not judge each other but to support one another in doing whatever makes us happy. Yes, we just got deep there but it's important to realize that college is a learning environment and we are all doing things on a daily basis that scare us a little. So if you take anything from my piece, have fun at school but make sure that you're keeping it together on your end and supporting your friends as well.
