FriendO: The App That Tests Your Friendships

Have you ever wondered how close you are to your friends? Recently my best friend introduced me to FriendO and it instantly became one of my favorite apps. FriendO is a unique game that connects you with your friends as well as tests how well you know each other. When playing the game you answer a question about yourself and then your friend tries to guess what you answered.

After your friend guesses your answer, they get to answer a question about themselves and then send it to you to try to guess how they answered their question. The questions come from a range of categories, like sports, celebrities, and family. For every correct answer, you receive a point and the first to 10 points wins the game.

My best friend and I have known each other for over 14 years so you would think that we would know virtually everything about one another, but it turns out that we still have a lot to learn about each other. I have only been playing the game for about 2 weeks and I learned so many new things that I did not know before. I did not know that my best friend formed her own secret language or that the monument that she wants to take a selfie with the Taj Mahal. Also since downloading the app I learned:

You can play FriendO with anyone.

Since downloading the app, I have invited some other friends to play too. FriendO is a great way to learn more about your friends. Playing FriendO with your family is fun too! I have played FriendO with my mother and brother. From playing FriendO with my mother I have learned that it is, in fact, true that mothers know everything. And from playing FriendO with my brother I have learned that I know nearly nothing about sports compared to him. It is fun to use FriendO to find our new things about yourself and your family!

FriendO is a great icebreaker or conversation starter.

FriendO is the perfect game to get to know someone new or catch with an old friend! The questions and categories are fun conservation starters. Also, the game is a quick way to learn more about a person without awkward silences or running out of things to say because the topics and questions are endless.

It is an app that is all about connection.

I will admit that sometimes I feel like a bad friend when I answer a question about my friend wrong, but I knew before playing that I was not going to get every single question right. Friendship is about more than knowing endless facts about a person. Friendship is about forming a relationship with a person and showing that you care about them.

Since downloading the app I have gotten to connect with many friends that do not get to see as often and reminisce with my friends about our shared memories. Although this app may seem purely about rating your friendship based on how many facts that you know about them, what I like most about this app is you connect with your friends and have a fun way to learn more about them.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
