Being a citizen of St.Louis has only proven how truly diverse it can be, yet we can all come together as a community for events in celebrations. Here are some Summer Events to keep you occupied, even if you reside on the other side of the Mississippi.

1. Shakespeare Festival

Though I have not been to the Shakespeare Festival, I've heard many positive things about it. Located in Forest Park, talented performers will encompass you in some of Shakespeare's classics. The event is free and bringing blankets, chairs, food, and drinks is encouraged. For my information, visit: http://www.sfstl.com/

2. Pride Fest

Pride Fest is a yearly celebration of gay, lesbian, and transgender culture. The parade is lively and features floats and twenty hours of music containing: pop, disco, jazz, country, rock, and rap. For more information, visit: https://pridestl.org/

3. St.Louis Brewers Heritage Festival

Also located in Forest Park, you will enjoy this festival if you're a lover of good food and even better beer. You can sample more than 60 types of beers from familiar brewers such as Schlafly, O’Fallon Brewery Six Row Brewing Company, Morgan Street Brewery, Anheuser-Busch, and Square One. For more information, visit: http://www.stlbrewfest.com/

4. Circus Flora

A one of a kind performance is located at Grand Center Arts & Entertainment District. Underneath a Big Top, circus performers illuminate and thrill each and every audience member, whether big or small. For more information, visit: http://www.circusflora.org/

5. Whittaker Jazz Festival

If you enjoy jazz music, this festival is the place to be. The event takes place in the beautiful Missouri Botanical Garden. For more information, visit: www.mobot.org

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
